THE OIL FAIRYTALE
Architectural design of an alternative decommissioning and regenerative process for the Troll A oil and gas platform in the North Sea. Inspired by the political role that Norwegian fairytales had and have in grounding cultural identity, a story with tiny heroes in a huge system, from plankton, lichens, oil spill-eating bacteria, to platform workers and nature enthusiasts.
A bio-receptive sub-natural ecosystem.
